On 9 January 2007 Microsoft is planning to release:

Security Updates

•ThreeMicrosoft Security Bulletins affecting Microsoft Windows. The highestMaximum Severity rating for these is Critical. These updates will bedetectable using the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer and theEnterprise Scan Tool. Some of these updates will require a restart.

•OneMicrosoft Security Bulletins affecting Microsoft Windows and MicrosoftVisual Studio. The highest Maximum Severity rating for this isImportant. These updates will be detectable using the MicrosoftBaseline Security Analyzer and the Enterprise Scan Tool. These updateswill require a restart.

•OneMicrosoft Security Bulletins affecting Microsoft Windows and MicrosoftOffice. The highest Maximum Severity rating for this is ese updates will be detectable using the Microsoft Baseline SecurityAnalyzer. These updates may require a restart.

•ThreeMicrosoft Security Bulletins affecting Microsoft Office. The highestMaximum Severity rating for these is Critical. These updates will bedetectable using the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer. Theseupdates may require a restart.

Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool

•Microsoftwill release an updated version of the Microsoft Windows MaliciousSoftware Removal Tool on Windows Update, Microsoft Update, WindowsServer Update Services and the Download Center.

Note that this tool will NOT be distributed using Software Update Services (SUS).

Non-security High Priority updates on MU, WU, WSUS and SUS

•Microsoftwill release no NON-SECURITY High-Priority Updates for Windows onWindows Update (WU) and Software Update Services (SUS).

•Microsoftwill release two NON-SECURITY High-Priority Updates on Microsoft Update(MU) and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).

Althoughwe do not anticipate any changes, the number of bulletins, productsaffected, restart information and severities are subject to changeuntil released.
